CARLO MAYNEZ

Born into a musical family in Mexico City, he began his musical studies at the age of 4 at the Yamaha Academy in Mexico learning the piano, and at the age of 7, Carlo began his cello studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City, studying under the tutelage of Zoia Kamisheva. 

 

Carlo has performed for musicians such as Lynn Harrell, Johannes Moser, Matt Haimovitz, Richard Aaron, Hans Jensen, Desmond Hoebig, Astrid Schween, among others. He studied at the National Conservatory for 9 years, where he was a double major student, studying piano under the tutelage of Hector Rojas and cello under Catherine Lehr Ramos. In 2012, he was a First Prize Winner of the National Cello Competition held in Monterrey, Mexico. That same year, he performed the Boccherini Concerto with the Michoacan Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Miguel Salmon del Real. 

 

Carlo has performed on several stages in Mexico, Spain, Venezuela, Canada, and the United States and has been featured multiple times on Mexico City’s Classical Music Radio Station Opus 94.5. During the summers, Carlo has been invited to attend the Meadowmount School of Music to study with Hans Jensen and Jonathan Koh, the Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory, the Prince of Asturias Foundation Festival among others. Apart from solo experiences, Carlo has played several chamber music concerts, including Piano Trios, String Quartets, Duos, Octets, and Sextets. In 2019, he was appointed first cello for the Suzuki Association of the Americas Orchestra in Cancun, Mexico, and has performed as a soloist multiple times, his last one being the performance of the Elgar Cello Concerto with the National Conservatory Orchestra in 2019.

 

Producer, composer, and mixing engineer specialized in Sound Design for brands and companies. ​​Creator of UX sonic experiences and original sound design for products, immersive experiences, and sonic logos. ​Carlo received his Bachelor of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he studied with Richard Aaron and Jean-Michel Fonteneau.
